This photo was taken while my husband and I were watching an outdoor Easter play last year. My husband had pointed to me the birds that were flying in the air as the sun was setting. I quickly took a photo of the birds before they disappeared. The timing couldn’t have been better! I was reminded of the Scripture:
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” (Matthew 6:26-27 (NIV))
People say that God speaks in mysterious ways. But sometimes, He can speak very directly to us — if only we are willing and ready to hear from Him!
One year later, this Easter, I wonder where these “birds of the air” might be resting their heads (or whatever they do at the end of the day). One thing that I know for sure — they have not gone to bed on empty stomachs. Sounds incredibly simple, right? It actually is, if we trust God’s Word. And God says that we are “much more valuable than they”. So why do some of us still find it so hard to hold on to our faith and simply trust in Him? Perhaps this is something to ponder on this Easter.
